The payroll professional’s Association is a non-profit organization that promotes payroll certification, develops training material for members, and is committed to improving the field. The Australian Payroll Association was created in 2004 by Arthur Toler and his wife, Heather Molloy, who worked with Hewitt Associates before founding the Association. Its goal is to provide education to anyone interested in getting educated about payroll or who wants to network with other payroll professionals around the country. The PPA has grown from 20 member companies to over 200 member companies in less than 10 years by marketing 24 chapters across the United States, which includes representation from all 50 states.
The organization also includes all of the standards in its Code of Ethics, written and revised by the CPA firm. This code of conduct is registered as a guide for community members and includes a code of ethics for employers to follow. The code is broken down into four categories:
