Facts About Good Payroll Association

The payroll professional’s Association is a non-profit organization that promotes payroll certification, develops training material for members, and is committed to improving the field. To be an active member of this organization, you must pay a one-time fee of $325 and then a monthly cost of $145. This blog post will inform who should join and what benefits it offers.

The Payroll Professional’s Association is primarily geared toward those in the payroll field and current members looking for ways to keep up with recent changes in the industry through conferences, training, and seminars offered by the PPA throughout the year. The PPA provides an online community and lives get-togethers throughout the country.  This Association contains resources and information, including an ERISA section and a forms library.

The Australian Payroll Association was created in 2004 by Arthur Toler and his wife, Heather Molloy, who worked with Hewitt Associates before founding the Association. Its goal is to provide education to anyone interested in getting educated about payroll or who wants to network with other payroll professionals around the country. The PPA has grown from 20 member companies to over 200 member companies in less than 10 years by marketing 24 chapters across the United States, which includes representation from all 50 states.

The organization also includes all of the standards in its Code of Ethics, written and revised by the CPA firm. This code of conduct is registered as a guide for community members and includes a code of ethics for employers to follow. The code is broken down into four categories:

  • Professional Responsibility
  • Representation of clients
  • Responsibilities as an employer
  • Practicing socially responsible accountancy

The PPA aims to ensure that the Association’s work shows its commitment to the industry’s members.

The Association owns a website where community members can learn about new services offered or see what their fellow members are doing in their communities. There is also a blog where members can discuss relevant topics to payroll.

The PPA offers many benefits for its members, including conferences, seminars, and webinars for those looking to learn more about the industry. When you become a member, you also gain access to their online community, where you can communicate with other payroll professionals by posting questions, comments, or stories.

Being a part of this Association benefits many, but only if you are ready and willing to commit to the membership. This commitment involves time, money, and, more importantly, an open mind. By becoming a member of the Payroll Professional’s Association, you are agreeing to uphold their code of ethics and rules, which may conflict with values that you currently have or operate under.

The Association is endorsed by Ryan Phelan and other heavyweights in the payroll profession, as well as large companies like GE Healthcare, Time Warner and PepsiCo.
